Bikini Wax Styles - Examples
Bikini waxing is the term
given to removal of hair around the bikini line – the area
of the body which borders the edge of a bikini. There are a
number of different bikini wax styles so it’s important to
think about exactly which one you want before getting a wax
treatment. This article will discuss some of the different
styles to help you make a decision.
Waxing is one of the most effective methods of removing hair
from the bikini line region. Although it isn’t a permanent
removal method it will at least get rid of the hair for a
few weeks compared to several days for other techniques such
as shaving. Waxing also provides a highly smooth finish to
an area of skin. The downside is that it can be very
painful!
The most common bikini wax and the least “risky” is the
regular wax. This removes hair from around the bikini line
but nowhere else. For people with low pain thresholds or who
have never waxed before this is probably the best option.
The full Brazilian and Brazilian are two popular bikini wax
styles. In the full Brazilian all the pubic hair around the
bikini region is removed. The Brazilian is similar except
only a thin strip of hair remains. Brazilian waxes of any
kind are not recommended for beginners because they’re
probably the most painful of all the styles. All the hair on
the bum is also removed which is something that some women
aren’t aware of when they first get a Brazilian wax.
There are many other examples of bikini wax styles. For
instance, landing strip bikini waxes are also popular.
Unlike the Brazilian, a “landing strip” of hair is left
untouched. Originally the landing strip was used by models
that had to wear thin underwear but is now used by many
women. The European is also common where only a small amount
of hair on the “mound” is left. The style is relatively
similar to the landing strip. Other styles such as the
butterfly, Brazilian butterfly and the arrow are available
although they aren’t as popular.
Before deciding which of the many bikini wax styles is right
for you it’s a good idea to discuss it with your beauty
practitioner. He or she will be able to advise you on
exactly what each of the styles involves. Some beauty salons
have different definitions of each of the styles which can
lead to confusion so it’s important to know which type of
waxing you’ll receive.
A skilled beauty practitioner will be able to minimize the
pain during waxing but there will always be a certain level
of discomfort. If you’re planning on getting a full
Brazilian wax then you should be especially prepared for
this! To try and reduce the pain it’s usually a good idea to
take some painkillers around an hour before you visit the
beauty salon to take the sharpness away. Some beauty salons
may even provide a numbing cream although not all do.
I wish you all the best on your
Bikini Wax Styles adventure!
